I started my journey in massage over 10 years ago. I found that my physical therapy training and bodywork went hand in hand. During my time at Kali Institute I was introduced to a western style of bodywork. It showed me how to help clients to alleviate stress and body pain. I loved going to people’s homes and helping my clients finally find pain relief.
I decided to learn more about bodywork and took courses in Pregnancy Massage, Cranio Sacral Therapy, Cupping, and Hot Stone Massage. Then, my Asian studies course changed my practice. I learned about meridians in Thai and Shiatsu Massage. This new Eastern Philosophy made me realize that there is a type of bodywork for everyone. Every client needs a customized plan. My clients range from the super athlete to my favorite lil’ geriatric client that makes me smile.
Two years ago my practice found a home in Ventura at Twin Palms Health and Beauty. The space is nestled in the middle of Downtown Ventura and is a little calm retreat from the outside hustle and bustle.
In a world of constant connection without touch, our body needs that human connection with touch for balance. We all need to take a moment and breathe. For me that’s what body work does. It makes you stop, become self aware and balanced, so that you can take on the world mentally and physically.
