GYROTONIC® Ventura is the premiere Gyrotonic studio in Ventura. Located in Downtown Ventura and established in 2013 by Pamela Pilkenton, GYROTONIC® Ventura offers “The GYROTONIC® Expansion System” to people from all walks of life including accomplished athletes, dancers, fitness enthusiasts, senior citizens, and people recovering from an injury or navigating a disability.
About THE GYROTONIC® METHOD
The GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® was conceived by Juliu Horvath using key principles of gymnastics, swimming, ballet, and yoga through which major muscle groups are worked in an integrated manner. The system is supported by equipment designed around the human body to allow total freedom in movement, without restriction of speed or versatility, thereby enhancing coordination, strength and flexibility.
Unlike most conventional exercise equipment where linear or isolated movements are performed, the Gyrotonic Expansion System emphasizes multiple joint articulations without compression. Currently, the Gyrotonic Expansion System is used worldwide by dancers, athletes, and in rehabilitation facilities, as well as by people from all walks of life, age and health condition.

I moved to the west coast from a professional career in concert dance and Broadway theatre and created two performing arts spaces and two dancetheatre companies. In 2001, I discovered classical Pilates and Gyrotonic and have developed an ever-expanding dedicated studio since then, that trains new teachers, hosts master trainer workshops and nurtures a happy, healthy community through this enjoyable movement method.SEE CLASSES
I’ve always believed in the power of movement and have known that keeping one’s body supple and strong is the precursor for longevity. I pursued a Masters of Arts in Dance Education to help create a body and movement awareness in dancers. Becoming a Certified, Licensed Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis Trainer has enabled me to expand my reach into the community to help create overall wellness through movement.
